Our Story

Meet Dr. Gursimran Brar

At the heart of Dr. G Brar Dental Clinic is our founder and lead dentist, Dr. Brar embarked on her journey in dentistry with a bachelor's degree from India, followed by an esteemed graduation from New York University College of Dentistry in 2009. Further enhancing her expertise, she also completed courses on implant dentistry, including the AAID Maxicourse certification from UBC.
Dr. Brar's professional path included valuable experiences working in Hazelton, Burns Lake, and Prince Rupert. These roles not only honed her dental skills but also deepened her understanding of diverse community needs. Inspired by this, she opened her own practice in Prince Rupert in 2014, with a vision to provide personalized and advanced dental care.
Her approach to dentistry is marked by a commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and a compassionate touch that puts patients at ease. Dr. Brar is passionate about making dental care accessible and educating her patients, ensuring they make informed health decisions. Under Dr. Brar’s leadership, our clinic has become a beacon of trusted, high-quality dental care in the community. We are dedicated to continuing this legacy of care, ensuring each patient leaves our clinic not just with a healthier smile but with a better understanding of their oral health.

Meet The Team

Tammy Palmer

Registered Dental Hygienist

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Tammy brings over fifteen years of dedicated dental hygiene experience to our team. She graduated from The Canadian Academy of Dental Hygiene in Mississauga, Ontario in 2008, and practiced in Edmonton for four years. In 2013, Tammy moved to Prince Rupert, BC, and has since been an integral part of Dr. Brar’s dental practice.

Tammy’s expertise in dental hygiene is matched by her passion for patient education and her commitment to providing exceptional care. She is known for her gentle touch and her ability to make patients feel comfortable and at ease during their visits. For the past ten years, Tammy has been working alongside Dr. Brar, contributing significantly to our clinic's reputation as a leader in community dental health.

Torrye Duffus

Registered Dental Hygienist

Born and raised in Prince Rupert, Torrye Duffus joined Dr. G Brar Dental Clinic in November 2019 as a dedicated dental hygienist. After completing her dental hygiene prerequisites at Vancouver Island University, she graduated with honors from the College of New Caledonia in Prince George in June 2014.

Returning to Prince Rupert, initially thought to be temporary, Torrye has since made a significant decision to grow and raise her own family in the community she loves. Licensed and registered by the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals since 2014, she is also an active member of both the British Columbia Dental Hygienist Association and the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association.

Torrye is deeply committed to patient comfort and takes pride in getting to know her patients personally, which allows her to develop tailored care plans. Her approach not only addresses dental health but also considers the overall well-being of her patients, often coordinating with other healthcare professionals as needed.

Sahithi Koti

Certified Dental Assistant

Sahithi Koti, a certified dental assistant, brings her passion for dental care and deep love for the field to Dr. G Brar Dental Clinic. Originally from India, Sahithi completed her bachelor's degree in dental surgery before moving to Canada. She furthered her credentials by becoming a certified dental assistant from the College of New Caledonia in Prince George.

Sahithi joined our team with a keen interest in contributing to high-quality dental care and patient satisfaction. Her background in dental surgery, combined with her skills as a dental assistant, allows her to provide exceptional support during dental procedures. Sahithi's enthusiasm for dental health is evident in her meticulous care for patients and her dedication to ensuring they receive the best treatment possible.
